Over 57% of adult U.S. computer users can benefit from accessible technology and this need extends globally, especially given the aging population. Our vision in the Microsoft Accessibility Business Unit is for technology solutions to be fundamentally usable, accessible, and reliable for customers, plus to enable developers to easily create accessible products.
This workshop will present a framework for mapping end-user accessibility requirements to technology solutions. We will discuss and demo some new accessibility solutions in Windows and on the Internet. To explore how technology can better meet users’ accessibility needs, the workshop will include brainstorming on opportunities for advancing accessible technology.
